The Continuous Tense is used to express actions going on and not yet completed . 

1- The present continuous tense : it expresses an action which is going  on the present time and is yet not complete.

e.g.             1-  I am playing.
                   2-  You are writing.
                   3-   He is singing.

Note: It is formed with the help of is ,are, am+ ‘ing’ form of the verb 


2- The past Continuous Tense : it expresses an action that was   going  on or continuing at some time  in the past.


e.g.   1-  I was playing.
         2-  You were  writing.
        3-   He was singing.

Note: It was formed with the help of was/were+ ‘ing’ form of the verb 


3- The Future Continuous Tense : it expresses an action that will be  going  on or continuing at some time  in the future .

e.g.   1-  I shall be  playing.
         2-  You will be   writing.
        3-   He will be  singing.

Note: It is formed with the help of will be/shall be + ‘ing’ form of the verb
