We often compare the qualities of things and persons. For this, we have the three degrees of comparison.
1- Positive Degree

We use the positive degree of adjective When we do not make any comparison.
It is used to show the simple quality of noun.

e.g. 1- Arun  is wise boy.
     
2-Anushka is a beautiful girl.

II. Comparative Degree

We use the comparative degree of adjective When we compare two persons or things.

e.g. 1-Anushka is Wiser than Alka.
     
2- Nisha is more beautiful then Alka.

III. SuperlativeDegree

We use the superlative degree of  adjective When we compare more then two or three person or things.

e.g. 1-Mohan is wisest of all the boys.
     
2-  Nisha is  most beautiful girl in the class.
