After Selling My Bike, House, Gold, I Still Need Help To Fund My Son’s Liver Transplant

About the Fundraiser

Our 9-year-old Sathwik suffers from a painful chronic liver disease. The smallest falls could result in him getting a fracture. Doctors have said that his bones have become thin and brittle after he started suffering this ailment. Since he is a naughty child we need to keep a vigil on him. In 2011, he came crying to me with a wounded fractured hand. Doctors told me that he’ll need a rod in his hand to alternate the broken bone. I didn’t have a penny on me at that time, without thinking much I immediately took my bike and sold it off for Rs. 15,000 to start his treatment. The same incident happened the next year when he fractured his left hand after falling off from his bed. This time we sold off our gold for his treatment. We’ve only been seeing money flow out of our pockets after his diagnosis.
My name is Sridhar Kotturi. Our family is heartbroken to see Sathwik get injured all the time. Due to his ailment, the blood in his body does not circulate leaving clots and he ends up itching, to the extent that he starts bleeding. He shouts at me saying, ‘Appa, let us go to the hospital!’ It’s very devastating to see him tremble with this pain. I apply a cream on his body that decreases his pain up to some extent. He was diagnosed with this ailment after 45 days of his birth and underwent a surgery for it as well. As time passed-by he lived like every other normal child. However, on 2nd October 2017 his ailment took a U-turn to disturb him again. The only way that my son will escape his weak body is a liver transplant that costs a whopping Rs. 28 lakh. We’ve found my wife to be a match for this transplant, however we have drained all our finances right now.
With your help in the form of donations, Sathwik can win this battle against his liver ailment.
My wife and I work as tailors in 2 different shops and earn a combined income of Rs. 20,000. We have 5 members to fend for, however most of our money is directed and drained towards his treatment. After selling off our home, gold, bike and taking a loan, we’ve spent off Rs. 30 lakh for his treatment. Despite making such high expenses, he still hasn’t got any relief. We pay a rent of Rs. 3000 since we don’t have our home anymore. We do not have anything more to sell and recover the transplant amount - Rs. 28 lakh.
Our son has been forced to stop his schooling after this ailment. Since he has nothing to do, he asks me if he can go out and play. It breaks my heart to tell him ‘no’ every time he asks this question. I wish I could let him play to his heart's content but doing that would mean another fracture and that's something I want to avoid. In order to make him feel better, I take him to his school when it closes so that he can meet his school friends. After meeting them for 10 minutes, we head towards home as he shouldn't be out for too long. On our way back, he would beg me that he wants to stay back with his friends. However, I cannot allow him outdoors because he is prone to skin diseases as well.
Sridhar Kotturi is struggling to support his son’s liver transplant. You can help him by donating generously to his fundraiser.
Sathwik’s favorite show is CID. Whenever he watches this show he tell me, ‘Appa, when I become big, I want to be like ACP Pradyuman. Our son has always wanted to be a policeman. We do not wish to see Sathwik suffer anymore and need help for his expensive liver transplant. Please donate to help our son.
